disease for quite some time and severe financial constraints had
prevented him from undergoing cardiac operation.

from Pehin Dato Goh King Chin, Managing Director of GHK Group of
Companies.
Pehin
Goh, a prominent businessmen and well-known in the local community
for his philanthropy efforts in contributing to the needs and
welfare of the less fortunate, donated B$23,750 towards the cost of
Mr Lim's heart surgery operation which is estimated at about

The contribution will top up the
initial B$3,250 contribution by members of the Tutong Chung Hwa
School Ex-Student Association and the B$3,000 chipped in by members
of the Royal Brunei Police Force.
Mr
Lim is currently attached to the Royal Brunei Police Force and has
been for the last 19 years. However, his status as a permanent
resident in the country does not, gives him the eligibility, for the
free medical facilities normally given to citizens in the country.
Yesterday's donation, one of
several that Pehin Gob had personally made in the past, was also
witnessed by the Manager of GHK Motors, Mr Chong Teng Fook. Mr Lim
Chong's father used to work for Pehin Goh's late father for many
years as a shop assistant back in the late 1950's.
According to Mr Lim, he was
diagnosed with the serious heart disease several months ago. He said
the contribution presented to him yesterday at Pehin Goh's office in
Beribi has indeed lifted his hopes of recovery.
