RIPAS Hospital Holds 'Khatam Al-Quran'

Begawan - The RIPAS Hospital in the capital held a 'Khatam
alQuran' ceremony for 25 of its officers and staff yesterday, at the
hospital's Unit Pendidikan Lanjutan Kejururawatan (UPLK).
Present as guest of honour at the
ceremony was the Minister of Health, Pehin Dato Seri Setia Hj Suyoi
bin Hj Osman, who was accompanied by his wife. Also in attendance
were the Deputy Minister of Health, Pehin Dato Paduka Awg Hj Ha7air
bin Hj Abdullah, senior officers and staff and some invited guests.
The ceremony began with the reading
of the Surah alFatihah which was led by the guest of honour.
Participants of the Khatam al-Quran then performed the main ceremony
of reading the "Surah Khatam", which was followed by a "Dzikir
Marhaban".
The guest of honour was later on
hand to perform the "Merenjis Minyak Wangi" or sprinkling of scented
water on the 25 Khatam participants.
The event, the first of its kind to
be organised by the RIPAS Hospital, is now expected to be held as an
annual event. The 25 participants comprised 11 male and 14 female
officers and staff from several different departments of the RIPAS
Hospital. The guest of honour was later presented with a souvenir to
mark the occasion. The event ended with a 'doa selamat' to bless the
