Local Entrepreneur Appointed As
Chinese Marriage, Registrar

Begawan - Mr Lim Seng Kok, one of the most prominent local
Chinese figures has been appointed as the Brunei-Muara District and
Temburong District Chinese Marriage Register Officer by His Majesty
the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, with effect
from January 1, 2007.
Mr
Lim Seng Kok, who is currently the chairman of Hokkien Association
Brunei Darussalam, first took up the important task in 2002 and has
since been re-appointed three times. Mr Lim Seng Kok received his
appointment from the Brunei-Muara District Officer and Temburong
District Officer on December 12 and December 20 respectively.
The content of the appointment
letters expressed high respect toward Mr Lim Seng Kok and hoped he
can undertake the important tasks continuously.
The chairman of Hokkien Association
Brunei Darussalam, who is 76 years old, is an active member in the
Chinese community and has often participated in numerous national
celebrations and campaigns. He is also the managing director of
three local business entities, namely Chyuan Huat Shophouse
Developing Company, Chyuan Huat Mini Mart and Chyuan Huat Coffee
Shop.
For his massive contribution in the
nation's development, Mr Lim Seng Kok has been awarded the PSB, SMB
and SNB medals by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of
Brunei Darussalam. According to a statement, Mr Lim Seng Kok
expressed his appreciation to His Majesty for the appointment. Mr
Lim also thanked the support and the confidence of the Brunei-Muara
and Temburong District Offices.
He concluded by conveying his
gratitude to the Chinese community for putting their trust on him,
adding that he would try his best in providing the finest services
to the community.
