National Scouts Camp, In KB
By Sulaiman bin Haji Sidek
Bandar Seri
Begawan - In conjunction with the 50 years of scout in the
Asia-Pacific region, the National Scouts Camp is held in Kuala
Belait from December 23 to 28.
The event is one of the
preparations for the Brunei Scouts Association (PPNBD) to organise
its 41 National Jamboree in conjunction with the 100 years of world
scouts to be held at the end of the year 2007.
The camp logo and activity logo
(above left) was designed especially for the camp. The logo in the
shape of a corn is in accordance with the theme of camp, which is
health, active and harmony.
The logo was designed by Skipper
Awang Junaidi bin Haji Hussiri, one of the commissioners of the
Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association.
Among the activities organised
during the camp was the Radio Club Amateur where scout members were
taught how to communicate with their peers outside the country
through the amateur radio. Other activities included
scout-craft-pioneer projects. -- Courtesy of Borneo
