Fond Memories To Take Home To
Japan
By Azrol Azmi
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Eight Japanese Youth Study Group members yesterday
left Brunei Darussalam, taking home with them memorable experiences
gathered during their stay in the Sultanate.
The group was here as part of the
Brunei-Japan Friendship Association (BJFA) study visit. The group -
made up of members of the Youth Environment Study from Sendai City,
Japan - were here on a four-day visit hosted by Brunei Darussalam.
During their stay, they were
brought on an eco-tour to Ulu Temburong National Park. They were
also able to visit the Kg Tamoi Tengah Traditional Village, and to
check out the Proboscis monkeys. Trips were also made to other
places of interest. According to Miss Kei Sato and Miss Emi Sasaki,
the visit offered them a memorable taste of Brunei Darussalam. While
they were taken aback by the humidity of the Sultanate, they did,
however, stress on intentions of coming back here again in the
future.
The visit also exposed them to the
history of the country. The group arrived here on December 23,
following which they stayed at the homes of their host families.
Eight home stay families were selected for this visit.
The visiting group was welcomed
with a high tea reception at the Orchid Garden Hotel. Also present
was BJFA President Dato Paduka Hj Hamdillah.
Prior to their departure, the group
was hosted to a luncheon with Japanese Ambassador Hashimoto Itsuo at
the Japanese Embassy in Kota Batu.-- Courtesy of Borneo
