New UBD Student Council President
Pledges Better Facilities

Begawan - The newly elected student council president of
Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Awang Md Amirol bin Abd Rahim, has
high hopes of providing better facilities for his fellow
undergraduates to ensure a better environment for studies.
Awang
Md Amirol, a third year undergraduate of UBD, was elected president
of UBD's student council out of over 50 nominees from various
faculties in the university.
The Sport Education undergrad hopes
he can fulfil the responsibilities as president of the student
council.
In an interview, he outlined
several plans to better the facilities of the university. - "We want
to create a PM UBD (student council) website for easier access for
students to communicate with council members and vice versa," he
said.
"We also plan to have Wi-Max
available throughout the UBD campus for easier Internet access and
launch a cyber cafe to be run by the student council committee
members.
"We also would like to organise
local and international activities for the community such as garage
sales, a car wash and a triathlon," he added.
Meanwhile, for the benefit of clubs
in UBD, Awang Md Amirol said they were also planning to install
pigeonholes for clubs in the University for students to communicate
with their respective clubs. He also hopes lockers can be installed
in each faculty for students to store their belongings.

MdAmirol encouraged students to meet with him to discuss procedures
in organising activities in order for him to offer guidance and
