By James Kon
Bandar Seri
Begawan - The Brunei Museum yesterday received a visit from
50 youth participants of the Mosque Youth Camp Programme.
Kampong Mentiri Mosque Takmir
Committee members and Mentiri Village Consultative Council members
accompanied the group on the trip.
The visit was one of the Youth Camp
programmes organised as part of the year-end school holidays.
According to chairperson of the
organising committee Iman Hj bin Hj Abd Rahman, the objectives of
the programme are to allow for the fostering of ties among youths
from various mosques in the Brunei-Muara District, to raise their
religious knowledge and to deter them from getting involved in
unhealthy activities.
The programme - which ran from
December 23 to 25 - saw the participants paying visits, to Jerudong
Prison and the Fire Service Department 'Cawangan C.' They also
participated in activities such as hill climbing, religious quizzes,
tug-of-wars, and talks on topics of motivation and religion. -- Courtesy of Borneo
