Pirates Foiled After Electronics
Company Files Complaint

Begawan - Many fake electronic items were seized by the
National Bureau of Investigation raiding 16 stores before X'mas,
after a popular electronics company filed complaint against the
pirates.
Hoping to clean up piracy blatantly
practiced in the city -special agents of the Philippines National
Bureau of Investigation raided-at least 16 establishments and
warehouses in Zamboanga City and confiscated a large number of boxes
of fake electronic products recently.
A report from the NBI-Zamboanga
office disclosed that the-raid was carried out on the strength of a
search warrant issued by the court in Metro Manila.
The NBI agents from Manila and from
this city surprised some commercial establishments and warehouses
most of which were owned by Chinese nationals. Out of the 16
establishments, the NBI agents confiscated at least 114 boxes of
bulbs in Zamboanga. The seizure was made at their warehouse in
Veterans Avenue. It was considered one of the largest seizures.
The raiding teams confiscated a
small number of electronic products from 15 other establishments.
The NBI report disclosed that the raids were carried out after the
concerned electronics company in Metro Manila filed a complaint to
the NBI in Manila about how their products are faked and sold openly
in the city.
The seized items were taken to NBI
warehouse for safekeeping, before charges are filed in court against
