Calandar To Help Raise Funds For SMARTER

Bandar Seri Begawan - Local entrepreneur and photoblogger Muhammad Reeda Malik recently launched an "anakbrunei.org Calendar 2007" to help raise funds for the Society for the Management of Autism Related Issues - Training, Education and Resources (Smarter).

Muhammad Reeda Malik, who is also known as AnakBrunei, told the Bulletin yesterday, "I was at the Smarter year-end gathering earlier this week to promote the calendar and to photograph the event. The centre is definitely a positive influence on these (autistic) kids' lives as it provides a venue for them to learn and grow in a supportive, understanding and loving environment.

"The treasurer of Smarter mentioned in his speech that the centre only has enough funding to operate for the next few months."

The calendar "features some of my favourite works from this year", said the owner of an ICT consulting firm, Aliesha Technologies Sdn Bhd.

He added, "This glossy calendar is printed on photographic quality paper and comes in A4 size. It's printed individually so you can personalise it with a line of text of your choosing at the bottom (of the calendar)."

The calendar is priced at $5 each, half of which will be donated to Smarter. As for future charitable works, he said, "I'm looking at a large scale, commercially printed charity calendar with the works of all the ultra talented Bruneian photobloggers out there."
