Revolutionary Golf R32 Unveiled

Bandar Seri Begawan - Maju Motors yesterday unveiled the most powerful and fastest Golf of all-time - the revolutionary Golf R32 - at its showroom in Jalan Telanai.

Also present at the launch was Managing Director Mr Chan Sui Kiat and other personnel of the company.

The new Golf R32 based on the Golf V generation packs 250bhp under its bonnet and highlights the 4MOTION four-wheel drive that promises excellent road-handling and stability.

Similar to its predecessor, the new top Golf has a design and equipment all of its own, boasting a well-recognised R32 logo on the outside.

From the font, the new R32 generation is immediately recognisable by its unique aluminium-effect shield-shaped radiator grille. At the top of the grille are double aluminium cross struts. The Golf R32 is also one of the best sports cars in the compact class, which delivers performance without compromising comfort or fuel efficiency. Its 3.2-litre engine produces a maximum torque of 320Nm at low to mid range rpm (between 2,500 to 3,000rpm).

The R32 that delivers a top speed of 248km/hr has a surprisingly low consumption of 9.7 litres of fuel for every 100 kilometres, going from 0 to 100km/hr in just 6.2 seconds.

The unrivalled superiority is most evident from its high-end equipment that comes as standard- automatic air conditioning system (elimatronic), RCD 500 audio system with 10 loudspeakers, automatic anti-dazzle interior mirror and rain sensor to the complete safety programme, comprising six airbags, ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Programme) and brake-assist. The sporty elements shown in its interior feature distinctive instruments, sports seats, pedals in aluminium finishing and other special applications that further highlight the Golf R32's sporty feature.

Its sports steering wheel with perforated leather along the grip area and the R32 gearshift knob add the final touches to this iconic power hatch.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
