Car Gutted, In Late Afternoon

Bandar Seri Begawan - A car was yesterday gutted by fire along the Tungku Link Highway. Fortunately, no one was injured in the 4 pm incident.

According to a mechanic who was at the scene, the fire was likely the result of a malfunction in the electronics systems.

One eyewitness said smoke billowed from the bonnet of the car before the fire erupted. The passengers were by then safely out of harms way.

Within minutes, police personnel arrive at the scene to control the flow of traffic as fire personnel worked on extinguishing the fire. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
