Monarch Sends Condolences To Late Permanent Secretary

Bandar Seri Begawan - His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam extended his condolences to the family of the late Dato Paduka Awg Sulaiman Ismail at their residence in Kampong Jambu in the Brunei Muara district, last Friday. Dato Paduka Awg Sulaiman passed away on Friday afternoon December 15, 2006, whilst still at the age of 48.

The late Dato Paduka Sulaiman began his service with the government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in 1982. He was appointed as Deputy

Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office in January 24, 2003 and subsequently promoted to Permanent Secretary on May 20, 2005.

The late Dato Paduka Sulaiman was also the Deputy Secretary of the Cabinet Ministers Meeting since 1998. He leaves behind a wife and six children. -- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
