Brunei DPMM FC Chase Another Win
By Alex How
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Head coach Buketa Ranko aims for another three
points when Brunei DPMM FC take on Pulau Pinang at Hassanal Bolkiah
National Stadium at 8.15pm tonight, in the qualifiers for the Super
League.
Brunei DPMM FC are the joint
leaders in the standings after their 2-1 win over Kedah during the
weekend.
Fadlin
Galawat's winner in the 88th minute secured Brunei DPMM FC all the
three points after Kedah's Shafiq Jamal had cancelled out Hardi
Bujang's opener. "We will try to win against Pulau Pinang, we play
at home, it will be another chance for us to get three points," said
Ranko.
Ranko
also hailed the performance of his team for their superb tactical
discipline. "I am very happy with the players, they played very
well, and the local players have shown that they can beat anyone
when they give one hundred percent. I am also happy with Fadlin, who
was out of form for a while, and now he starts scoring again, it is
good for the team and good for him."
Ranko
paid tribute to the Kedah team who had played very well, and to
their supporters who were always behind the team. But he did express
his suspicions about the equalising goal being scored from an
offside position.
Ranko
calls on the local fans to support for the team tonight, and help
them in their quest for three more points. Perlis share top spot in
the Super League table with Brunei, after a 2-1 win over Pahang
thanks to goals from Azlan Ismail and Fauzi Nan. Rashid Madmud
scored for Pahang in the 59th minute.
Pulau
Pinang will be chasing their first win after they were held to a
goalless draw at home by Melaka Telecom. Johor FC drew 0-0 with
defending champions Negri Sembilan in another game. Perak beat
Sarawak 2-1, while Brunei DPMM FC's opponent this Saturday, Selangor,
defeated Malacca 1-0.
