Coca-Cola Outgun PLK For Eratach Softball Title

Bandar Seri Begawan – Coca-Cola Gunners won the First Eratech Enterprise Men's Softball Open at the Jerudong Park Country Club when they beat archrivals PLK Zombies 'A' 7-2 in the final yesterday.

The Gunners, loudly supported by their fans, shrugged off fatigue from three days of competition and won rather easily, after the challenge from Zombies `A' somehow failed to materialise.

"Every players today were very relaxed, we felt no pressure at all," said Gunners captain Wan Mohd Tambrin Shah. "We just hit the ball and got to the bases safely."

Earlier in the semifinals, Coca-Cola Gunners edged JAG 21-3 while PLK Zombies 'A' beat Banzai 6-1. "It was a bit hard to organised and play in a tournament at the same time," Saidi Shamsul, the PLK Zombies `A' team manager, said, "but it was a good experience for us, and we have lots of support from the other teams. We want to thank them for taking part in the tournament."

The tournament was organised by PLK Zombies Softball Team and sponsored by Eratech Enterprise.- JAG were placed third after beating Banzai 7-2 in the third/fourth placings playoff.

On hand to present the trophies to the winners was the Deputy Director of Youth and Sports, Pg Mohd Sabri Pg Hj Mohammad. Also present at the prize-giving ceremony was the Vice President of Brunei Amateur Softball and Baseball Association, Pg Hj Jambol Pg Hj Sulaiman.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
