Woman Embraces Islam

Bandar Seri Begawan - A Chinese woman converted to Islam recently in a ceremony held at the residence of Awg Hj Abdullah bin Tahir at Kg Danau in the Tutong District. Dyg Matilda Ong Li Lien, 26, is now known as Dyg Nurasrina bte Abdullah Ong.

The chief guest at the ceremony was Dyg Suraya bte Hj Mohd Salleh, wife of the Acting Tutong District Officer. Dyg Suraya also performed the sprinkling of the "bunga rampai" on the new convert.

Also in attendance were the Mukim Telisai Acting Penghulu / Danau village head, Awg Hj Abdullah bin Abd Rashid and spouse, Acting Assistant Religious Development Officer Dyg Zikrinaidah bte Hj Mohd Dikir, parents of Dyg Nurasrina and Danau villagers -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
