By Rosli Abidin Yahya
Bandar Seri
Begawan - In an effort to unite friends and families during
the holiday season, JAJAH will provide free global phone service for
callers in 80 countries including Brunei Darussalam on Christmas
Day.
All registered JAJAH users will be
able to make free calls free conference calls, free scheduled calls,
and even send free text messages to anyone in the 80 countries,
regardless of whether recipients are in the JAJAH network.
The Christmas offer comes at the
end of a very successful year for JAJAH, a new innovator in
telephony.
Over one million people around the
globe are registered with JAJAH, a service that provides consumers
with a web activated solution without the restraints of hardware,
software or downloads.
Users simply use their regular
landline or mobile phone to make affordable calls. "This is our way
of saying `thank you' to our customers," said co-founder Roman
Scharf in a press statement.
"It is also a good way to
demonstrate the value of our new approach to telephony. Each holiday
season, many people all over the globe are separated. Our message to
them is `call home on Christmas', the call will be on us."
Families can even use JAJAH to
conduct free family conference calls (up to ten people) in a single
call on Christmas Day.
Registered users can set up the
call either on Christmas day or schedule it between now and
Christmas day by registering at JAJAH.com.
"We've designed the service to make
it as simple, and as widely available, as possible so that most of
the world can take advantage of this offer and call home," said
co-founder Daniel Mattes.
"If you are in Paris on Christmas,
and your brother is on his cell phone in Brunei Darussalam, and your
mother is on a landline in Los Angeles, it doesn't matter. We will
connect you all on Christmas, one concurrent ncurrent call, and the
call will be free."
JAJAH
enables consumers to make free and low cost telephone calls by
combining the Internet and existing telephony infrastructure.
The service is ayailable in Zones
1, 2 and 3 with Brunei falling in Zone 3. Numbers called do not need
to be registered JAJAH users but callers must be registered. For
nations listed in Zone 3, including Brunei, calls are only allowed
from and to landlines; except for text messages.
The free JAJAH lines are open 24
hours on December 25. Calls are subject to JAJAH's policy available
