Kg Salar Store Gutted

Bandar Seri Begawan - A fire gutted a budget shop store in Kg Salar on Wednesday night at around 7.30pm. Five fire engines from Lambak Kanan, Muara and Berakas rushed to the scene to put out the blaze.

However, the distress call was received at around 8.32pm. On hand to lead the fire personnel was Shahbandi Hj Abd Halim, Acting Assistant Officer for Operation. At the time of the incident, no one was inside the store. It took about 22 minutes to put out the fire.

According to the Electrical Services and Fire and Rescue Department, the cause of fire was due to a short circuit of electrical cables being eaten by rats.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
