Family Receives Food Aid

Begawan - The Bureau of Welfare, Community and Health, Parti
1?embangunan Bangsa (PBS) yesterday afternoon came to the aid of a
paralysed woman, Dyg Zaiton Hj Md Ali, in Kg Rimba, Gadong by
donating sacks of rice to help her and her children sustain a
living.
On hand to present the sacks of
rice to the family in a simple ceremony at Dyg Zaiton's residence
were the Bureau's Chairperson Hjh Armah Hj Othman and executive
committee member, Hjh Rayah Md Ali.

Zaiton, in her 40s, has been paralysed for four years and has to
support her three children aged 18, 17 and seven years old. One of
them is unemployed after leaving school a few years ago, while two
are still schooling.

Armah said the contribution hopes to be an eye opener for members of
the public to provide help for the family. "We hope caring people
will come to the aid of Dyg Zaiton," she said. According to Dyg
Zaition, she receives $250 disability allowance from the Ministry of
Culture, Youth and Sports.
Meanwhile, her 18 year-old son said
he is hoping for a career in the army soon. "I want to help my
mother and my two sisters so they can carry on schooling," he said.
