Woman Questioned Over Expired Papers At Yayasan Building
By Yusrin Junaidi

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Immigration and National Registration's Law Enforcement Section yesterday conducted routine checks to ensure that foreign nationals have renewed their permits to stay in Brunei Darussalam.

The operation led by a chief immigration officer and involving seven personnel took place at the Yayasan Building in Bandar Seri Begawan. A 23year-old Indonesia woman failed to show any documents and an investigation showed that her passport had expired for 133 days - on August 2, 2006.

She claimed that her passport was given to an unidentified agent whom she allegedly paid B$50 for the agent service.

The authorities suspected that the women might be involved in "unhealthy" activities. She allegedly used a handphone or SMS to set up appointments and provide the "unhealthy" services. The case is under investigation.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
