40 Youths Take Part In 'Sayangi
Diri' Camp

Begawan - Forty students from five government secondary
schools in Belait District took part in the 'Sayangi Diri' camp
organised by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) with the cooperation
from Sekolah Menengah Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul
Bolkiah Lumut (SMPAPHRSB).
The camp was held at the Mumong
sports complex for the first time yesterday morning with the theme 'Menjana
Remaja Wawasan".
It is aimed at helping students to
have a better understanding of the role they play in their
community.
The camp also hopes to give youths
an exposure to better equip themselves for future challenges and to
produce youths with leadership skills and vision.
Representatives from Royal Brunei
Police Force, Prisons Department, Health Department and JAPEM were
invited to share their experiences with the participants. Apart from
talks, spiritual development is also an important part of the camp's
activities. Officials from the Dakwah Islamiah Centre were invited
to fill the participants' time with religious activities between
Maghrib till Isyak prayers for two consecutive nights.
Mosque officials will guide
participants in performing prayers and proper handling of the
deceased after performing Subuh prayers.
After the completion of the camp,
Belait NCB will hold monthly meeting with the participants to
discuss further programmes and activities, involving them in
projects to be organised by NCB in Belait secondary schools as well
community works in the district. They participants will also be
invited to take part in youth activities organised by the Youth and
Sports Department.
By organising such a programme, the
NCB hopes to achieve maximum results in the implementation of
various anti-drug programmes. The camp will end tomorrow afternoon.-- Courtesy of Borneo
