Touch Of King Midas At HSBC
By P. Marilyn
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Twenty children were treated to an afternoon of
Greek mythology and fairytale yesterday when HSBC's main branch in
Bandar Seri Begawan invited its young customers to their second
interactive Big Book Reading session.
Dressed in regal costumes, the
enthusiastic children aged between two and five met HSBC's Chief
Executive Officer, Guy Priestley who transported the children back
to the world of "King Midas and His Magical Touch" when he himself,
dressed in a regal costume entertained the children with
storytelling.
Apart from the Big Book Reading,
the kids and their parents were also entertained with interactive
games and were served refreshments afterwards.
Each child took home an HSBC gift
bag and balloons. Also present during the event were Lyndsay Rajah,
Head of Personal Financial Services and Vivien Goo, the Bank's
Branch Manager.
According to Ms Rajah, the
interactive nature of this event not only serves to develop and
encourage the young children's natural curiosity but it also fosters
goodwill and trust between the children and their families, and the
bank.
Due to its popularity, HSBC's
Senior Managers as well as other staff members are looking forward
to do subsequent Big Book Reading sessions planned in the coming
months.
To add to the magical atmosphere, a
number of HSBC main branch staff members also came to work dressed
in fairytale costume in support of the event. -- Courtesy of Borneo
