'Leaps
And Bounds' Marks 2nd Year With The Show

Begawan - JD Leaps n Bounds Studio featured The Show, an
hour-long pre-ballet, jazz, hip-hop, ballroom and belly dancing
inter-connected by a Jester who accidentally opened a giant-,
gift-wrapped present, to celebrate its second anniversary in Kuala
Belait.
Owner and Managing Director Dorsky
organised The Show at the Swiss Hotel on Jalan Pretty, Kuala Belait,
"to allow our students a feel of what it is like to performance on
stage.
"We had colourful props, costumes
and lights, specially for them, and gave them confidence and a
chance to showcase their talents in dancing." The non-stop programme,
conceptualised by choreographer Christopher Nocon, who played a
Jester, started with a ballet number to the tune of `A Spoonful of
Sugar.' Japhet and Rachel followed it in a pas de deux to the tune
of Beauty and the Beast from the movie of the same title.
Dance instructor and overall
choreographer Nocon was a scholar at the Hongkong Academy of
Performing Arts, the National Commission for Culture and Arts
Philippines, and a University of the East Dance Troupe member, and a
guest, choreographer in Canada and Japan.
Assistant choreographer Lilibeth
Munar, a scholar at the University of the East Dance Troupe, Centre
for.Pop Philippines, and guest choreographer, Barangay Dance
Association in Canada, appeared in a solo belly dancing performance,
Ojos Esi.
Nocon
and Munar combined ballet, jazz and ballroom in a pas de deux to the
tune of Time of My Life, from the movie Dance with Me. -- Courtesy of Borneo
