Book Fair Stresses On Early Start
To Education
By James Kon
Bandar Seri
Begawan - A book exhibition will be held at The Mall in
Gadong starting today until Sunday, offering members of the public a
chance to get their hands on a wide range of educational products
for their young children.
The exhibition - which stresses on
the need for early education - is organised by Syarikat Khaslih Jaya,
the main agent of Grolier International (Singapore) in Brunei
Darussalam.
"Early education is important,"
said Grolier International Sales Manager Chong Yen Leng, stressing
that a child's education starts not at school, but at home, where
children can learn quicker.
Employing a systematic way of
education, Grolier International (Singapore) products cater to
children as young as two-years-old as well as adults. The Grolier
International products made its debut in Brunei Darussalam earlier
this year.
"In Singapore, around 80 per cent
of parents use the education tools of Grolier International. So we
felt that Brunei too was a potential market," she added.
The Singapore company employs
educational experts and child psychologists to develop programmes to
cater for the individual needs of customers from different
countries.
The range of books available
include `Help Me Be Good,' based on moral values of character
building, `I Wonder Why (Knowledge),' Phonics Reading Programme,
Disney Children Encyclopaedia, and Logico Set.-- Courtesy of Borneo
