Exercise To Assess BSP Emergency
Response Readiness

Begawan - The Brunei Shell Petroleum Company and government
agencies in the Belait District held a joint emergency exercise
codenamed "Exercise GERAK" on Thursday.
The objectives of the exercise were
primarily to test BSP's emergency response system and its interface
with the relevant agencies like government emergency services, as
well as its readiness to respond to an emergency or crisis.
The exercise was conducted by BSP's
Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) department.
A number of organisations were
mobilised in the course of the exercise, such as the BSP's Emergency
Response Team, Panaga Health Centre and government agencies namely
the Fire and Rescue Services' Operational "B" Division; the Suri
Seri Begawan Hospital; the Panaga Police Station; and the Belait
District's Royal Brunei Police Force.
The "Exercise GERAK" operations
were observed by officials from the Panaga Police Station, the Fire
and Rescue Services Department, the Internal Security Department,
the Ministry of Health and from BSP itself. A post-mortem was
