Minister Views Singapore Developments

Bandar Seri Begawan - Minister of Development Pehin Dato Awang Haji Abdullah bin Dato Haji Bakar led a five-member delegation on an official visit to Singapore, December 3-7, at the invitation of Singapore Minister of National Development Mah Bow Tan, according to a press release.

During the visit, the minister discussed broader strategic policy issues with regards to planning land usage, housing programme and greening issues with officials from the Singapore Ministry of National Development and its statutory boards.

Pehin Dato Awang Haji Abdullah also paid a courtesy call to his Singaporean counterpart as well as Singapore Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Yaacob Ibrahim.

The minister also visited several Singapore government agencies that oversee land, housing and parks development such as the Urban Redevelopment Authority, the Housing and Development Board, the National Parks Board, and the Singapore Land Authority.

Other stops the minister made include the NEWater Visitor Centre, a new HDB estate in Punggol, to have a better appreciation of the operations of the facilities.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
