Belait Arabic School Rewards Outstanding Students By Hanni ABD

Kuala Belait - Belait Arabic School held a prize presentation ceremony for students who achieved outstanding results to mark the closing of the school year.

Present as guest of honour was an officer from the Belait District Department of Islamic Studies, Ustaz Hj Ali bin Lani, who also presented prizes to the students. The ceremony began with a mass reading of al-Fatihah followed by a speech from the school headmistress, Ustazah Rohani binte Hj Moksin.

She said in the PSR examinations, the school achieved 100 percent passes with 9 students scoring 5 `A's. These students will continue their studies at the Brunei Islamic College or Mahad Islam in Tutong and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Arabic Religious School for Girls in Bandar Seri Begawan.

The highlight of the function was the presentation of prizes and certificates to Md Hilmi bin Yakop, who achieved the best results in PSR. To enliven the ceremony, several performances were staged by the students.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
