20 RBAF Personnel Complete Course

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Tri-Service two-month course for mid grade officers started from October 2 until December 4 as part of the continuous development of the armed forces' human resources capability, professional competencies and dynamism in order to adapt and respond to a changing geo-strategic environment.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Defence marked another achievement when 20 officers from Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) completed the 2nd intake of the Junior Staff Course (JSC).

The completion of the course was officially held with a closing ceremony at the Civil Service Institute in Rimba, Gadong (IPA).

During the course, the officers went through challenging hours, operational and non-operational lectures, and individual skills assessments relating to leadership, management, communication and operational planning under the guidance and supervision of Lt Colonel BK Rawat and his directing staff as well as guest, presenters. Apart from classroom training,

the JSC also conducted overseas academic tour to Philippines from November 11 to 19. The academic tour was part of the Operational Planning modules in the course and is important to their career progression in the military.

Present as the guest of honour at the function was Pehin Dam Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Hj Awang Halbi bin Hj Md Yussof, Commander of RBAF.

Also present were the permanent Secretary of Defence, Dato Paduka Hj Mustappa bin Hj Sirat, Ambassadors of the United States of America and the Republic of the Philippines, High Commissioners of Australia and the United Kingdom, Deputy Permanent Secretaries of Defence, Service Commanders and Commandants, Philippines Defence Attache and directors.

At the end of the ceremony, certificates and souvenirs were presented to course participants and guest speakers by the guest of honour and the event also saw the presentation of prize to the best writer for service paper, 492 Captain (U) Hj Mohammad Albadii Shahnoel bin Hj Noeh.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
