Danau Primary School Celebrates Diamond Jubilee

Bandar Seri Begawan - Danau Primary School in Tutong recently celebrated its diamond jubilee at the school.

Present as the guest of honour was Acting Special Duties Officer at the Ministry of Education, Dayang Afsah bte Hj Abd Majid. In her opening speech, Dayang Afsah said that the celebration was held in remembrance of the school's former headmasters and teachers for their contribution to the school's development.

He urged all the former headmasters, teachers and pupils of the school to give their full support to the school's development by joining in the PTA.

Meanwhile, the school's headmaster Awang Mohammad bin Haji Zaidi, in his welcoming speech said that the school was built in 1930. At that time, the school was known as Sekolah Melayu Danau. In 1967, the Education Department issued a memorandum which stated that the school now comes under the supervision of the Tutong District.

A Sports Meet will be held on Dec 9 at the school's field. All former pupils of Danau Primary School are welcome to attend the event.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
