Conference Participants Treated To Welcoming Dinner

Bandar Seri Begawan - Participants of the 7th International Nursing Conference were yesterday invited to a welcoming dinner at the Rizqun International Hotel.

Present as guest of honour was Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Haji AwangAbd Rahman bin Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Taib.

In her welcoming speech, the chairperson of the ceremony Hajah Thaibah Haji Abdul Rahim said, "We organise this event on a biennial basis to give nurses in this region and other parts of the world the opportunity to present their views, express their concerns and formulate ideas about the future."

"More than 400 people have registered. Over 34 papers and four workshops will be presented, all of which are relevant to the theme of the conference - Innovation in Nursing and Midwifery: Practice, Education, Management and Research," she said. Later, a keynote address was delivered by Professor Emeritus Dr Letty G Kuan from the University of the Philippines, Manila.

The dinner also saw a performance staged by students from the Nursing College. The conference - held at the Rizqun International Hotel - is organised by the Pg Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah Nursing College. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
