10 Bruneian Companies At Food Expo
In Oman

Begawan - Representatives from some 10 Bruneian companies are
currently in Oman to promote their products for acceptance at the
Food Expo 2006 - an international exhibition on food and beverages,
which began Sunday Dec. 3.
Held at the Oman International
Exhibition Centre, the event, which will end today December 5, was
formally inaugurated by Ahmed Sulaiman Saleh At Maimani, the
Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Regions
Affairs, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
The opening ceremony was attended
by ministry officials, ambassadors, top executives of participating
companies, and distinguished guests from the sultanate's food and
beverage industry.
Organized by Omanexpo LLC, Food
Expo 2006 features over 55 local and international companies that
directly serve the food and beverage as well as the hospitality
industries in Oman.
The three-day exhibition showcases
a wide range of products for groceries and hypermarkets, hotels and
restaurants, catering firms, agricultural companies and food
manufacturers.
Its main objective is to contribute
to the continued growth of Oman's food industry by presenting the
latest products and equipment that are available in the market.
More than 25 exhibitors from other
parts of the world are also taking part to present their highquality
products to potential clients and distributors in Oman. Among them
are IMI International Ltd. of the UK, which is introducing Battery
Energy Drink, the sponsor of Food Expo 2006.
Apart from the 10 Bruneian
companies, other exhibitors include Al Barq Kitchen Equipment Co.
LLC, The Food Centre, and Sawas Kitchen Equipment Co of The UAE;
Moretti Forni SpA, Ave Industries, and Metos SpA of Italy; Rieber
GmbH and Co. KG of Germany; Ceylon Fresh Teas, Bogawantalawa Tea
Estates, and Maliban Biscuit Manufactories of Sri Lanka, as well as
Sotubi of Tunisia.
Omani companies have a major
presence in the event, with participation from Abd Khalik Abdullah
Habib Najwani and Partners LLC as its major - sponsor.
Other Omani participants include
the Al Bayader International, A'Saffa Poultry Farms SAOG,-General
Electric & Trading Co LLC, Matrah Cold Stores LLC, Oman Gulf
Enterprises, Premium Food Industries, Shah Nagardas Manji & Co,
Sharikah Fanniyah Omaniyah (Muscat) LLC and Sohar Poultry Company
SAOG.
The strong local and international
participation in Food Expo 2006 is a clear indication of the
industry's existing major opportunities and the growing interest of
