Danau Beach Festival A Big Splash!

Bandar Seri Begawan – Hundreds of visitors and fun-seekers yesterday showed up at the Danau Primary School in Tutong to check out the Danau Beach Festival 2005.

The beach event was the fifth of such festivals organised by Persatuan Angkatan Melayu Danau and Majlis Perundingan Kampong Danau.

Present as guest of honour for the opening ceremony was Tutong District Officer Abdul Mutalib bin Hj Muhd Idris. Also in attendance was chairman of the organising committee Hj Abdullah Hj Md Tahir.

"The beach festival aims to bring our community closer together. This is also a chance to promote Danau Beach as a hotspot for picnic and outdoor activities," said Hj Abdullah.

Numerous activities were lined-up for the day including the Sukan Ria, rock climbing challenge, flying fox, karaoke competition, drawing competition, tug-of-war, five-aside football tournament, exhibitions on cars and motorbikes, and dangdut performance.
