Brunei To Attend Memorial Service
For Tsunami Victims

Begawan – Some 28 nations including Brunei Darussalam have
reportedly agreed to attend a memorial service for tsunami victims at
Banda Aceh today (Dec 26), Antara reported.
Invitations to the memorial service
have been extended to some 87 nations, according to Yuri Octavian
Thamrin, the press secretary of Indonesian Vice President M Yusof Kala.
To be graced by Indonesian President
Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the memorial will also be attended by
representatives of Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore and South Korea.
Antara
reported that Brunei, Thailand and Vietnam will be represented by
officers in the same rank as deputy minister.
Another 23 nations including Austria,
Belgium, China, France, India, Jordan, Kuwait, Portugal, UK, UAE,
Japan, Russia and Sweden will be represented by their ambassadors in
Indonesia.
The United Nations will be
represented by the assistant for natural upheaval, Margareta Whalstrom.
