Two Indonesians Killed In Car Crash

Bandar Seri Begawan – Two Indonesians were the latest victims in a road accident that occurred at Kg Sengkarai, along the Tutong highway.

The accident, which happened around 6.15pm yesterday, involved two saloon cars that collided head on at the traffic lights. The deceased were identified as Sumaji, 42, and Winto, 24.

The accident occurred just days after the police advised motorists to drive safely especially during the festive and wet season. Police had also advised drivers follow road traffic rules, such as stopping at traffic lights, giving way being cooperative and patient.

According to Tutong Fire Services, the two Indonesians who were inside a saloon car collided with another saloon car that was occupied by four passengers, including three women who sustained injuries. They were later sent to the Tutong hospital.

Sumaji and Winto were pronounced dead at the hospital. Two fire engines with 12 personnel led by DSO Yong Fook Ching from Tutong Fire Services were at the accident scene. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
