By Rosli Abidin Yahya
Bandar Seri
Begawan – New president of Federation of Brunei Malay
Entrepreneurs (PPPMB) Pg Shaliminan Pg Hj Ismail promised to continue
the works and planning of the previous leadership, especially in its
attempt to get closer to relevant authorities as well as the
implementation of new projects.
He said in his maiden speech as the
new president that it is vital for the federation to get the
cooperation of the various authorities so as to obtain business
facilities such as lands and buildings as well as supports and
financial loans through healthy and proper channels.
"This is the first time I hold the
post as the president of the federation, after 27 years of being a
member. I thank members for electing me as their new leader and I
promise that I will work harder for their business rights," he said.
Pg Shahminan also thanked outgoing
president Dr Hj Abdul Latif Chuchu who vacated his post to enter
politics.
"We hope Dr Hj Abdul Latif will be
successful in his new venture but hope he will continue to provide
support to our struggle for business rights," he said.
While in Brunei, the group visited
several tourist attractions such as the Water Village, The Royal
Regalia, Belalong National Park, Gadong Commercial Centre and more.
They were also bought to sample Brunei's traditional delight "Ambuyat"
at one of the local restaurants.
"Brunei is a peaceful country and a
great place to visit for leisure. We definitely will recommend Brunei
to the people of Hong Kong through our publication," said Mr Joel Lo,
senior editor of Weekend Weekly Magazine. --
