Empire Hotel Getting Set For Year-End Celebration

Bandar Seri Begawan – Preparations for New Year's Eve celebration at the Empire Hotel and Country Club are in full swing now.

The project, which is undertaken by the hotel's engineering department, includes a massive stage four metres above the ground at the Level I of the Atrium at the hotel.

The stage also includes walkways where stars can interact with the crowd.

The construction work, which began in the middle of this month, is expected to complete by December 30.

Celebrities such as Sheila Majid, Dayang Nurfaizah,Misha Omar, Aznii Nawawi, and AF3 stars Mawi, Felix, Amylea and Marsha will appear on the 110-square-metre stage to witness the countdown to 2006 and to wish the crowd a happy new year

A 2.5-tonne triangular steel truss suspended 20 metres above the ground will include high-powered speakers and lighting systems such as par cans and moving heads.

To ensure the guests are able to view the event from every angle, a 15-metre by 20-metre projector will also be erected.

The New Year's Eve ticket desk is now open at the main lobby of the hotel from noon to l l pm during the week and 9 am to 11 pm on the weekend.

For the convenience of ticket buyers, NYE ticket booths can also be found at Level 1, outside Deejay Home Video at The Mall, Gadong, until December 30, from noon until 9 pm.
