P's Women Committee Formed

Bandar Seri Begawan – The Women Assembly of National Development Party (NDP) formed its national executive committee last Wednesday morning at the Limbaruh Hijau, Jerudong in its zest to attract more women members into the organisation.

More than 30 women from the four districts attended the meeting in a move to increase membership in order to promote the party's vision and mission among women.

Hajah Saemah Hj Kefli, Head of the Women Assembly, said women's involvement in politics must be seen in a positive way so as to increase women's participation in the building of the nation.

"Many women are unable to participate in the building and development of the nation as they could not find a suitable platform to do so. Now that there is a platform, we hope more ladies will join us," she said.

She also told the women members about the upcoming plans and activities and she hopes to get their support carrying out these activities.

At the meeting, Hajah Kartini OKPSD Hj Abu Hanifah was elected as the deputy head, Hajah Ajijah Hj Momin the Vice Head £, Siti Rahmah Hj Mutalib the Vice Head 11, and Susan Ameerah Abdul Aziz as the secretary. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
