Floods Continue To Plague Sg Tampoi
By Cedrina Norlaila Abd Clark

Bandar Seri Begawan – Flash floods have been crippling Jalan Sungai Tampoi, Sengkurong since the 14-hour rain from December 21-22.

The drains are clogged with rubbish and sewage, preventing the rainwater from flowing out of the area.

Residents in the village are frustrated by the lack of action from the authorities as well as their inability to stop their homes from being submerged in muddy water.

Since the floods began, some residents have moved their vehicles to higher ground, despite the difficulty in manoeuvring their cars amid the floods.

Residents also said authorities should look into the situation at Jalan Sungai Tampoi as soon as possible so their lives can return to normal. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
