Fine Brunei Showing At The Borneo Games

Bandar Seri Begawan – Brunei won a gold, two silvers and five bronze medals on the third day of the Borneo Games in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, RTB reported.

The gold was won by Jimmy Ahar in the men's 800 metres. Athletics also contributed three bronze medals to the Brunei tally, through Dyg Michelle Charlene Basir in the women's 400 metres and both the Sultanate's 4X100 metre men's and women's relay teams, RTB added.

Awg Sapar bin Rashid and Mohammed Ali bin Latip claimed the silver in top-spinning doubles, after notching a total of 6 points.

Two other bronze medals won by Brunei yesterday came from boxing, through Awg Saiful Rizael Mohd Shukri in the 54-kg category, and Awg Muhaimin bin Sahar in the 60-kg category, the report said. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
