Good Haul By Brunei At Asean Para

Begawan – It was a good outing for the Brunei contingent at the
3rd ASEAN Para Games for disabled athletes in Manila, the Philippines.
Yesterday, Hj Jumaat Shari set a new ASEAN Para Games record of 21.03
metres on his way to winning the F55 class gold medal in men's
javelin, AP reported.
On Sunday, Brunei won two silvers and
a bronze in athletics, RTB reported. One of the silver medals came
from Awg Hirdan Hj Abd Kadir in the discus, his third overall in the
Games after his silvers in the shot putt and javelin earlier.

Norol Afizah bte Pg Osman won the other silver for Brunei, in the 400
metres. Dk Norol Afizah had earlier won a gold in the javelin, and two
bronze medals in the 100 metres and the 200 metres, RTB said.
Not including the gold from Hj Jumaat
Shari, Brunei have thus far won a total of 5 gold medals, 6 silvers
and 4 bronzes, the RTB report said. The 3rd ASEAN Para Games will come
to a close later today. --
