Two Missing On Fishing Trip

Bandar Seri Begawan – An air search and rescue operation has been launched by the RBAF to locate two people who were reportedly missing since Sunday when they failed to return onshore after going out for a fishing trip at Jerudong beach.

Family members of the victims alerted RBAF when they received a SOS call from one of the victims telling them that their boat had capsized. When they tried to return the call, it was either left unanswered or unreachable.

The search and rescue mission was made difficult and. risky due to the strong winds coupled with rough sea during the monsoonal rains.

A large number of people were seen gathered at the beach since yesterday morning when the news of the missing duo broke.

The victims were a local villager and his companion from another village.
