Multiple Theft Cases In Past Week

Bandar Seri Begawan – The police last week recorded three break-ins and theft cases resulting in the loss of a mobile phone charger, radio, driving license, identity card and four sport rims. A red Honda Prelude was also reported missing.

Seven cases of theft were also recorded in Kg Lambak Kanan, the Industrial Complex in Belait and Jalan Tengah. Lost items included two gas cylinders, $100, road tax, watch and 40 CDs.

The Temburong Hospital and Jalan Maharaja Lela were also targeted by thieves, where stolen items included a video recorder, DVD player, mobile phone and charger, grass-cutting equipment, three clothes and $25.

Meanwhile, other cases detected were seven instances of fraud where two individuals were arrested, one hit-and-run in which a man was arrested, one forged signature, an instance of purse snatching at the mosque in the capital and one case of causing injury to people.

Five cases of vandalism and two custom-related cases were also recorded, where two men were detained. In addition, 25 accidents were recorded resulting in one death, one serious and two minor injuries. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
