400 Participants Register For Korban Seminar

Bandar Seri Begawan - Around 400 participants comprising, among others, government officers, imams, mosque's qariahs, penghulus, village heads, representatives from the public sector as well as personnel of abattoir and slaughter houses registered yesterday for the Seminar Ibadah, Korban to be held tomorrow at the ICC.

The seminar, the first of its kind organised by the State Mufti's Office, will aim to give Muslims in the Sultanate some guidance and information, particularly on the Islamic ways of slaughtering animals for Korban, in accordance with Syariah law.

Five working papers will be discussed, including the different aspects of Korban and its benefits, rights of the rich and less fortunate, as well as roles of the ` Wakalah'

There is also going be a question-and answer-session.
