New Water Treatment Plant For Temburong

Temburong - The Temburong district will have a new raw water treatment plant that is expected to raise the total water production capacity in the district.

Budgeted at nearly $10.1 million, the plant is one of three projects allocated under phase three of the Tcmburong water Supply Development project, RTB reported.

The laying of the foundation stone for the new plant located at Kampong Batang Duri was held yesterday morning led by the Minister of Development, Pehin Dato Paduka Awg Hj Abdullah.

Located on a 17.18 hectare site, the construction of the water plant will be y undertaken by the Water Services of the Public Works Department under the 8th National Development Plan.

The project is expected to be completed by October next year. Aside the raw water treatment plant, two other projects, the construction of a raw water intake pumping station and raw water pipelines area lso included in the water supply project of Temburong district.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
