Sheraton Thanks Contributors Of UNICEF Challenge

Bandar Seri Begawan - Sheraton Utama expressed its sincerest appreciation to all the sponsors for the recent UNICEF Challenge 2005.

The hotel's UNICEF Ambassador, Ms Jenny Jee, disclosed that through their generous donations, close to B$13,000 (approximately US$7,500) was collected this year.

Sheraton teamed up with sponsors from some major companiesto help raise funds for UNICEF in an effort to immunise thousands of children around the world.

The hotel among others also thanked BSP, HSBC, Total E&P Borneo, BAE Systems, F&N Coca-Cola, Delcol Mineral Water, Kuang WeiAdvertising and Displays, TGT Sdn Bhd, Adinin & Co, AES Engineering, Aewon Garments and Embroidery, Hertz Car Rental, Avis Car Rental as well as various individuals, such as local artistes Hj Fadzil Hj Ahmad, Marsidi Omar, Pg Roslan Pg Hj Bakar and Zakaria Omar who contributed.

All companies under the Starwood Hotel and Resorts, including Sheratons worldwide, are given a challenge to raise funds for UNICEF every year.

They have to come up with their own programme. Sheraton Utama Hotel organised a series of events for the challenge, such as a charity run, car boot and garage sales, an art bid, as well as introducing `I Care' teddy bears, t-shirts and towels recently for purchase.

It is hoped that they have created public awareness in UNICEF's efforts for the rights of all children around the globe.
