Blessing Ceremony For Intending Haj Pilgrims

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Public Service Department yesterday held a blessing ceremony for its officers and staff who will perform the Haj this year.

The guest of honour at the function was the Director-General of Public Service, Dato Paduka Hj Saifon bin Hj Awg Besar.

Also present were senior officers and staff of the department. The event, organised by BERKESAN, a body under the department responsible for social affairs, began with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by a speech from one of the committee members of BERKESAN.

A guest speaker from the Islamic Dakwah Centre, Ustaz Hj Ismail bin Mohd Arif was also invited to give a special religious talk on Haj pilgrimage.

Tokens of appreciation were later presented to the guest speaker and intending pilgrims followed by a 'Doa Selamat'.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
