Philippine Embassy Warns Of Unauthorized Donation Collectors
By Rosli Abidin Yahya

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Embassy of the Philippines here urged the public not to give donations allegedly solicited by two young Filipinas in the streets of Brunei Darussalam in the name of orphanages in the Philippines. .

Ed Matibag, an Administrative Officer at the embassy's consular section said the embassy never gave permission to its citizens to solicit money in Brunei Darussalam for the purpose of donations in the Philippines.

"If we want to collect donations we will do so by sending out emails to the Philippine citizens in Brunei Darussalam. "Or we will do it through the local chuiiches but only to the Filipinos.

"Therefore the latest incident where two Filipina girls were allegedly seen soliciting money from the public here must be totally ignored as they did not have our permission and they may not be even genuine collectors," he said.
