Genico to be introduced to local
market
DVM
Technology Bhd is set to be present in 11 countries in the next two
years, thanks to a worldwide acceptance of its newly-launched Genico
broadband telephony, The Star reported.
Its Executive director, Chen Chee
Peng, said the company had made arrangements with its partners and
telecommunications companies (telcos) to market the home-grown
turnkey-based broadband Internet protocol (IP) telephony service to
Brunei, Singapore, Norway, Thailand and Pakistan next year.
DVM
expected to secure five clients in these countries in the next nine
months, he said after the launch of Genico in Kuala Lumpur Wednesday.
"We currently have several proof of
concept sites in these countries. We are optimistic of making Genico a
success, given its differentiation focus," he said.
He said the company also planned to
introduce the service to Australia, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia,
China, Vietnam and Hong Kong in 2007.
Chen said DVM expected Genico to be a
substantial earnings generator for the company in the next two to
three years.
Listed on the Mesdaq market early
last year, DVM, which specialises in developing and implementing
strategic customer focus communications technology solutions for
medium to large organisations, achieved RM11 million in turnover for
its financial year ended Sept 30, 2005.
Chen said DVM had invested RM7
million over the past three years to develop Genico, currently the
most advanced and complete suite of broadband telephony solutions in
the market. It is designed to meet the strict requirements of foreign
telcos.
Genico
at present features all seven broadband communication services such as
voice, video, instant messaging, whiteboard collaboration/application
sharing, secure file transfer and presence management.
"We will continue to develop new
features for Genico," Chen added.
