Young Asean Insurance Manager's
Award

Begawan - The prestigious Young Asean Insurance Manager's Award
was presented to 35-year-old Mr Sara Lamsam, President of Muang Thai
Life Assurance, by Senior Minister Keat Chhon, Minister of Economy and
Finance of Cambodia, at the 5th Asean Insurance Congress in Siem Reap
recently.
The Director of Financial
Institutions Division at the Ministry of Finance of Brunei, Awang Haji
Mohd Syaippuddin Bin Haji Abdullah, was among the guests at the award
presentation ceremony.
The panel of judges from the Asean
Insurance Council included Ms Dorothy Newn, chairperson of the General
Insurance Association of Brunei.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Lamsam
said he will play a more active role to serve the insurance industry
and helps the younger executives in the region to come forward to make
a bigger impact.
Besides from being a dynamic,
forward-looking and innovative CEO, he has served as a volunteer
Sec-General of the Thai Life Insurance Association as well as served
on the Exco of the Young Presidents Organisation, the Drugs Control
Foundation and the Pacific Insurance Conference.
The presentation ceremony coincided
with the 8th Asean Insurance Regulators Meeting and the 31st Asean
Insurance Council Meeting.
This is the first year that the Asean
Young Insurance Manager is chosen on a regionwide basis.
The Young Asean Insurance Manager's
Award is limited to managers in the insurance industry with at least
five years working experience who are under 40 years of age and have
shown an outstanding leadership within the company and the industry.
