Jalan Chempaka Road Needs Repair
By Rosli Abidin Yahya

Bandar Seri Begawan - Residents of Jalan Chempaka, Mile 1, Jalan Tutong hoped their access lane to the main road could be repaired soon as it had been partially destroyed by heavy rains about a month ago.

As a result of heavy rains, parts of the road near the junction had been damaged causing potholes. Residents said the potholes near the junction were dangerous and could cause damage to the underside of their vehicles.

The potholes have been filled with broken chunks of concrete, which could prove to be more dangerous. "We are hoping for our road to be repaired soon not only for our convenience but also for motorists who use the lane as an alternative or short-cut from Kiarong to Jalan Tutong.

"In fact the road needs to be resurfaced all along from the Kiarong junction to the Jalan Tutong junction," they said.

They added that without immediate action, the road could be further damaged by heavy rainwater flowing from the hilltop. They said they have lodged reports on the condition of the road to the relevant authority several weeks ago.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
