Localised Telisai, Danau Plan Exhibition Launched

Tutong - The localised Telisai and Danau programme plan exhibition was launched yesterday at Tumpuan Telisai Primary School in Tutong.

Launching the exhibition was Permanent Secretary (Professional and Technical) at the Ministry of Development, Hj Said bin Pehin Dato Paduka Hj Hashim, as the guest of honour.

The three-day proposal exhibition is part of the consultation process to gain feedback from residents of the village and its surroundings areas on the proposals from the outcome of analysis of development plan in Telisai and Danau.

The exhibition is also part of the continuous initiative of the Town and Country Planning Department to create awareness on the role of the department in building a harmonious and effective living environment. The exhibition is open to the public from December 14 till 16.

Meanwhile, Awg Hong Kok Seng, in his welcoming speech said that one of the aims of the showcase was to get the villagers response and comment about some of the planning and strategies done for the develipment of Kampong Telisai and Kampong Danau, Tutong.

One of the important mechanisms in developing any village is planning, he added. The Town and Country Planning Department also strived to ensure that the natural habitat of the area being developed is not disturbed.

Awg Hong stressed that Mukim Telisai in one of the mukims still rich in its natural resources. The village is known for its natural beauty and land that is suitable for agriculture.

Also attending the ceremony were senior government officers from Ministry of Development, Tutong District Officer, Kg Telisai Headman, Kg Danau Headman as well as Telisai and Danau villagers.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
